The public has another opportunity to review and comment on the Assessment Report produced by the Cataraqui Source Protection Committee.
“The assessment report will be used by the committee to start working on the source protection plan,” said John Williamson, Source Protection Committee Chair. “It provides a science-based analysis of the quality and quantity of water in our area, with a focus on municipal drinking water.”
This is the second chance to comment on the report. A draft version was published in April and three public open houses were held in May. The Source Protection Committee received five written submissions. The report was updated in June and a proposed version is now available for review.
The proposed report is posted at www.cleanwatercataraqui.ca.
Printed copies are also available for review at the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA) administration office.
The deadline for submitting written comments is Friday, August 20, 2010. All comments received will be included with the report when it is submitted to the Ministry of Environment in October for final approval.
Please send comments to Rob McRae, Project Manager at the CRCA office or by e-mail to email@example.com.
