The Cataraqui Source Protection Committee is pleased to present a talk by Bruce Davidson of the Concerned Walkerton Citizens.
The talk is being held on Thursday, February 11 at 8:00 p.m. in Davies Hall at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. There is no admission charge and everyone is welcome to attend.
Mr. Davidson will tell the story of Walkerton in a way that will make you think about what needs to be done to protect our local drinking water.
“It’s important to remember what happened as a result of Walkerton,” said John Williamson, Cataraqui Source Protection Committee Chair. “Source protection committees across Ontario, including ours, are now developing plans to protect sources of drinking water.”
Bruce Davidson is co-founder and vice-chair of the Concerned Walkerton Citizens, an organization formed in 2000 after the Walkerton tragedy.
Mr. Davidson was very involved during the Walkerton inquiry. He is currently a public representative on the Saugeen, Grey Sauble, Northern Bruce Peninsula Source Protection Committee.
“Mr. Davidson is a very dynamic speaker,” added Williamson. “I recommend that anyone who is interested in protecting water quality attend this talk.”
The talk will be preceded by a meeting of the Cataraqui Source Protection Committee from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. also at Davies Hall. The public is also welcome to attend the committee meeting.
